Droz Marketing Programs Win Double Honors
Two Droz Clients Crowned "Marketer of the Year" by American Marketing Association The envelope please... In an unprecedented showing, two marketing programs created by DROZ captured top honors in this year's "Marketer of the Year" awards, the Oscars of the Marketing Industry, sponsored by the American Marketing Association Pittsburgh Chapter. The awards were presented at the annual American Marketing Association Awards Ceremony held at the LeMont in Mt. Washington on December 11. Droz, ranked as one of Pittsburgh's leading marketing firms, took the top awards for campaigns on behalf of Propel Schools and The Senior Life Insurance Institute, both located in Pittsburgh. The "Marketer of the Year," granted by a panel of marketing professors and leading professionals, recognizes exceptional marketing campaigns in a variety of categories. Dan Droz, president of DROZ, accompanied by representatives from Propel and the Senior Life Insurance Institute, was grateful for the support of his two clients. "The Marketer of the Year Awards is a testament to the willingness of our clients to support innovative ideas that push the marketing envelope to deliver superior results."Propel Schools, Pennsylvania's largest charter school federation, operates 4 elementary schools and one high school in underserved communities in Western Pennsylvania. The campaign that Droz developed, "Not Your Typical High School," won kudos for creativity and accomplishing its goal of recruiting students to an innovative new high school, The Andrew Street School, in Munhall. The campaign combined a direct mail program, outdoor, print and radio ads, a new Web site, and media relations and achieved Propel's goal of filling the high school, creating a waiting list for the next academic year. Anne D'Appolonia, director of development at Propel Schools, said "Propel is thrilled to have won the 'Marketer of the Year' award for education, especially at such an exciting time for the organization. Partnering with Droz has been a huge advantage for us. Their insight, responsiveness and the quality of their work is truly exceptional." For The Senior Life Insurance Institute, winner in the Financial Services category, Droz created a national education program for seniors to learn more about options for life insurance products. By using an innovative combination of Personal Web sites (PURLS), direct marketing and an exciting program venue, the campaign attracted audiences around the country, far exceeding the program's goals. At the end of the ceremony, Droz quipped, "It was a great day. We are grateful for the opportunity to be able to work with clients that appreciate good design and innovative marketing.
